Okay I figured I would check out Recyclebank.com and see how many points I would get for turning in some of my old cell phones.
I filled out the information they asked me about the make, model and condition of the phone (Razur) with cosmetic damage to the case and water damage (nephew threw it in our toilet)
Well long story short THEY said it was worth a total of 204 points, I figured great that would be 4 of the $4/20 CVS rewards deals (I would have sent for 1 each month since you can't redeem more than one per month)
I just got an e-mail stating:
We wanted to update you that the device you sent to Flipswap for recycling has been received and reviewed. However, the device received by Flipswap did not match with what was submitted at RecycleBank.com for the following reason:
The condition stated did not match.
We have credited your account 10.0 RecycleBank Points as a thank you for helping keep your electronic device out of the landfill and recycling with us.
You can see this Points credit reflected now in your Account at Recyclebank.com.
Grrrrrrr When I read that I was sooo mad I could of Spit nails!! I feel like it was a bait and switch sorta situation. I've already sent them an email telling them EXACTLY that. And that I didn't appreciate them backing out of what they had promised. I want the points they promised or I'm calling the BBB on them. It's not like they just took off 10 to 20 points for one reason or another. They took over 190 points away from what the ORIGINAL quote was!!
I'll update later about what they tell me or if me and RecycleBank can come to a compromise about this or not.
thanks from Jamie

Hey FreeSpiritChik: RecycleBank here. Give us a call at the customer care center or email us so we can assist you. customercare@recyclebank.com
ReplyDeleteAsk for Karina or Michael and say Lisa sent you.
FlipSwap did me the same way. They quoted me $69.17 for 4 phones (2 were brand new) and the check I received was $12.64. These guys are serious, when I called they had some garbage story about how the phones were not what I said they were but they wouldn't be willing to prove that or return the phones. BIG RIP OFF. FlipSwap you need to stop scamming your customers.
